Equipment

  • 1 Pressure Cooker
  • 1 Pan
  • 1 Ladle
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Chopping Board

Ingredients

  • 1 pack SriVaraha Foxtail Millet Thinai Pongal Mix
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • few Ginger
  • few green chilly

Instructions

  • In a pressure cooker, add 1 cup of Foxtail Millet Pongal Mix with 3 cups of water.
  • Add a pinch of turmeric powder and salt to taste. Stir well.
  • Close the lid and cook on medium heat for 5-10 minutes, or until you hear 3 whistles.
  • In a small pan, heat 1-2 teaspoons of ghee or oil. Add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon of crushed black pepper, Ginger, Green Chilly, a few curry leaves, and 1 tablespoon of cashews (optional).
  • Pour this tempering over the cooked Pongal and mix.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
