Mappillai Samba Kanji with Buttermilk | Sri Varaha

🌾 Mappillai Samba Kanji – Savory Strength Drink with Buttermilk

Mappillai Samba rice is a powerhouse grain known for boosting strength and endurance. Traditionally used to energize new grooms (Mappillai), this red rice is packed with iron, fiber, and antioxidants. With Sri Varaha Mappillai Samba Kanji Mix, you can enjoy this nutritious millet-based drink in just a few minutes — now with a savory twist using buttermilk and salt.


🧂 Ingredients (for 1 serving):

  • Sri Varaha Mappillai Samba Kanji Mix – 3 tablespoons

  • Water – 400 ml

  • Salt – as required

  • Buttermilk – 1 glass (after cooling)


👩🍳 Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, take 3 tablespoons of Mappillai Samba Kanji Mix and mix with a little water to make a smooth paste without lumps.

  2. Boil 400 ml of water in a pan.

  3. Slowly add the paste to the boiling water while stirring continuously.

  4. Cook on medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes until it becomes thick and smooth.

  5. Turn off the heat and let it cool completely.

  6. Once cooled, add salt to taste and 1 glass of buttermilk. Mix well.

  7. Serve chilled or at room temperature — a perfect summer drink for energy and hydration.
